Meri and I started our friendship when we were 7th graders in Yorktown Hts., New York. After high school we were faithful letter writers for many years. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding, and I am her daughter's godmother. We had a reunion on the east coast with two other school friends the year we all turned fifty. Then there were a few visits on her part to California and a couple on my part to Illinois where she lives now. Our last reunion was five years ago when Linda and I visited Chicago. What a treat to have her visit us here in San Diego this week! It was so much fun to catch up on our lives and reminisce. Her daughter, Dana, and her granddaughter Tara were also in California, so they drove from LA to meet up with Meri at our house. A picture of these two lovely ladies is below, and the one above shows of course Meri and me. Both are cell phone pics Meri texted to me, as I didn't take any photos at all. Here's hoping my upcoming trip to Croatia will reignite my passion for photography. Betty and I leave May 5 for ten days - with I might add, Biff's full support and encouragement. "Go as soon as you can," he told me, "while I'm doing great."
