It was dark when we began the first day of our equestrian workshop in Scottsdale, Arizona. Fort McDowell is full of cowboys, cowgirls, horses, dogs, and saguaros.
The day before, Rita and I made the six hour drive to Scottsdale, and we stopped at the Phoenix airport to pick up Betty. After dinner we headed to the home of our workshop leaders, Rich Buchbinder and Rose Erata, for an orientation. That prepared us for a well organized, fun-filled adventure that took us to places we would never have discovered on our own. Then it was time to drive to Sheryl's house for a good night's sleep. Sheryl is Rita's cousin, and fortunately for us, she invited us all to stay in her beautiful home where we were awed by her art collection.
