Oh, am I ever excited to be here. It is beautiful! I drove up today with another participant in the Michael Frye workshop at the Ansel Adams Gallery. Tom picked me up around 5 am, and we arrived at 1:30, a seven hour drive, but very pleasant. Our rooms at the Yosemite Lodge were ready, so we unpacked and then took off to shoot. There's lots of snow on the ground, but the weather right now is clear and sunny, not too cold. The workshop doesn't start until Tuesday at nine, so Tom and I have all day tomorrow to shoot. It was his plan to have an extra day, and since I was happy to get a ride, I just went along. And I'm so glad I did. Stomping around in the snow made me feel like a kid; I'd forgotten how crunchy it is, and how it feels to suddenly sink in deeply. Great fun. The tripod is a pain, but it's worth it.
